Our Purpose is guided by our Values.  Our Values are to make a positive contribution to the world, be fair and empathetic in decision-making, and meet our commitments with integrity.  In these uncertain times, leaders with clear Purpose and strong Values rise to meet challenges with empathy and grace.

We recognize two (of many worthy) examples of leaders taking action consistent with their Purpose and Values:

• NY State Governor Andrew Cuomo.  Leading a diverse group of public and private citizens through a sudden and unprecedented pandemic public health and economic crisis is a responsibility no state governor could have predicted when taking oath of office.  Gov. Cuomo has demonstrated each day his commitment, integrity and authenticity to all who have watched him.  His daily press briefings where he communicates his official and personal responses to the crisis are a masterclass in communication and leadership. 
  
• AirBnB Founder and CEO Brian Chesky.  Dramatically reducing costs and laying off employees during a crisis is one of the most difficult decisions for a leader.  Mr. Chesky, founder and CEO of AirBnB, has shown how to take such decisions with empathy and grace.  His letter to employees on May 5, 2020, shows how is actions are guided by his and the company's Purpose and Values.
